Over the years, we’ve partnered with Direct Relief International, Mentor Initiative, COOPI, CSSI, Lutheran World Federation, UNHCR, CARE, ACRA, and the Association des Guide du Tchad (Girl Scouts).
Innovative Solutions Tackling Poverty
In Chad, we currently partner with ACRA to increase access to and improve the quality of education for refugee youth from the Central African Republic.
ACRA has been operating in Chad since 1968. Their intervention priorities are education, protection of the environment, fighting hunger and poverty.
In 2010, ACRA became the UN Refugee Agency partner responsible for education for refugees across southern Chad.
Silvia Fregoso, the Director of ACRA in Chad, describes our relationship:
“ACRA has been working with the Fund for Refugee Initiatives for nine years. What we really appreciate about our collaboration with FRI is their willingness to contribute to real change in the communities with whom we work with and the continuous dialogue we have established with Bill and Catherine, and now, with Sara-Christine, since the very beginning. The style of FRI is focused on listening to the needs of the communities and of the ACRA teams.
